Game Overview

Sonic Rumble Party is a free-to-play multiplayer party game developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA for PC and mobile devices. Originally released as Sonic Rumble, the game was rebranded as Sonic Rumble Party in 2026 following a major update that introduced new gameplay modes and features.

Set within a toy-themed world created by Dr. Eggman, Sonic Rumble Party sees up to 32 players compete across a variety of obstacle courses, races, survival challenges, and battle arenas inspired by the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Players take control of miniature toy versions of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Dr. Eggman, and other characters as they battle to become the last competitor standing.

The game combines platforming, racing, and party game mechanics, with stages based on iconic locations such as Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary, alongside original environments created specifically for the game. A range of multiplayer modes challenge players to avoid hazards, navigate obstacle-filled courses, collect rings, and outlast their opponents in fast-paced online matches.

Players can unlock and customise characters with a variety of costumes, animations, emotes, and visual effects, while cross-platform functionality allows mobile and PC players to compete together online. Regular updates introduce additional content, events, and rewards designed to expand the game’s roster and gameplay options.

As one of the first large-scale online multiplayer party games in the Sonic franchise, Sonic Rumble Party represents SEGA’s move into the live-service multiplayer market, bringing together familiar characters, accessible gameplay, and competitive online action for players around the world.

Sonic Rumble Party is currently rated 4.2 stars.

This score combines:

  • 👤 1 community review
  • 🟩 Metacritic score of 66/100

SEGA Universe ratings are built from the review sources available for each game.

Community reviews are submitted by SEGA Universe members and use a 5-star rating system.

SEGA Universe reviews are editorial reviews written specifically for the site and may contribute to a game’s overall score.

For games originally released on classic SEGA platforms such as the Master System, Mega Drive (Genesis), Saturn and Dreamcast, historical magazine reviews may be used to provide contemporary critic scores from the time of release. These scores are normalised to a 100-point scale before being included in the rating.

For newer releases, Metacritic scores may be used when historical critic reviews are not available.

Not every game uses the same review sources. Some games may only have community reviews, while others combine community reviews, SEGA Universe reviews and critic scores.

Each available review source contributes equally to the final rating.
